This edition of “Around the Districts” highlights news and upcoming dates from Adams County’s six public school districts. Information was checked against district announcements and calendars on October 19, 2026. Families should confirm details with their school before attending.

Several districts have board meetings or school events this week, and the first marking period is ending for many students. Here are dates and announcements families may want to note.

Gettysburg Area

The Gettysburg Area School District Board of School Directors is scheduled to meet Monday, October 19, at 7 p.m. at the Administration Building, 900 Biglerville Road. The district calendar also lists the end of the first marking period Friday, October 23, and mobile dentist visits at Franklin Township Elementary October 27 and James Gettys Elementary October 28. Bermudian Springs

Bermudian Springs Elementary lists a PTO meeting Wednesday, October 21, from 9:15 to 11 a.m. in the school’s STEAM room and its Race for Education fundraiser Friday, October 23. The district calendar lists a half-day dismissal Friday, October 30, at 12:15 p.m. The CIRA committee is scheduled to meet Thursday, October 22, at 6 p.m. in Middle School Learning Commons A. Conewago Valley

The first marking period ends Friday, October 23, for students in grades 4–12. The district calendar lists an early dismissal Monday, October 26, and an Athletics Subcommittee meeting that evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The next School Board Study Session and Voting Meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. Families can check the district calendar and board agenda page.

Fairfield Area

The Fairfield Area School Board’s next regular meeting is Monday, October 26, at 7 p.m. in the district board room. The district is also inviting veterans who live within the school district, along with a guest, to a recognition event at Liberty Mountain Resort on Wednesday, November 11, from 8 to 10 a.m. Registration is due October 30. Littlestown Area

The Littlestown Area School District lists a regular school board meeting Monday, October 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Its live feed recently announced a Winter Sports Meet the Coach Night Tuesday, October 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Littlestown High School for grades 7–12. Upper Adams

Upper Adams lists a school board meeting Tuesday, October 20, from 7 to 8 p.m. The Upper Adams Intermediate School calendar also lists a band instrument parent night for new band students at the same time. Friday, October 23, is the intermediate school’s Race for Education. Biglerville High School’s Apple City FFA plans a Trunk or Treat Saturday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a canned-food drive.
