Kara A. Topper, 58, of Fairfield, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born July 4, 1968, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Arthur “Dean” Thompson and the late Kathleen O’Leary.
Topper worked as a licensed practical nurse at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Glade Valley in Walkersville, Maryland. Her nursing career spanned more than 30 years. Outside work, she enjoyed riding motorcycles with her husband, spending time with friends, and being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dwight J. Topper; children Michael Topper and Lauren Topper, both of Fairfield, and Anna Flickinger of Gettysburg; her grandchildren; brothers Scott Thompson and Ryan Thompson; and sister Kelly Thompson.
