Darlene Topper Weaver, 93, of Gettysburg, died peacefully at home on Oct. 15, 2026. She was the wife of the late Leo Curtis Weaver.
Born Aug. 21, 1933, in York Springs to Chester Ray and Myrtle Irene (Miller) Topper, she was raised in Gettysburg and graduated with the Gettysburg High School Class of 1951. She married Leo in 1953 and devoted herself to their family and to raising their son, Dennis.
Weaver worked at Keystone Tile, George Grawe’s Cannon Cafeteria and JC Cleaners, all in Gettysburg. She cherished time with family and friends, especially going out to eat, and was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. Her Christian faith brought her comfort in her later years.
She is survived by her son, Dennis C. Weaver of Gettysburg; sisters-in-law Eileen “Sue” Rager and Arlene Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced later. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Read the full obituary and check for service updates at Peters Funeral Home.
