What a surprise I got when in my mailbox was a postcard from the Republican Party of Pennsylvania and in the biggest, brightest bold letters I saw “Kathleen Platt.”
I blinked three times and still it says Kathleen Platt.
I know who is running for state representative in the 91st district, Kathleen Pratt, but does Dan Moul know?
My thoughts drift back to the WGAL debate when Dan Moul calls her “Katherine.” How do we trust a person that can’t get his opponent’s first name or her last name correct on the costly flyer from his own party going out to thousands of people – does he even know who he’s running against? Does he even care?
All of this speaks to the years of complacency in this role in which he’s skated along for 20 years, not putting forth much legislation or running against many opponents. Is this someone that we have confidence in? He likes to say “experience matters” but we all know people in the same job for twenty years who are not as effective as they used to be. It’s clearly time for someone new. His lack of interest in knowing even the most basic information about his opponent is the ultimate example of how comfortable he feels in this campaign, but ask yourselves, is this the kind of leader you want representing us? I know I don’t.
