Fairfield Area School District officials said they will continue seeking community input on the district’s comprehensive plan after a planning session Monday drew two attendees from outside the district.
The session took place before the school board’s Oct. 26 regular meeting. Administrators said the next planning session is scheduled for Nov. 16, when they plan to update the community on feasibility studies. They said they are considering ways to increase participation.
At the board meeting, district officials also reported that Fairfield golfers Isabelle Sedley and Hayden Frank placed 10th and 30th, respectively, at the state championships. Sedley competed in the girls’ Class 2A tournament, while Frank competed in boys’ Class 2A.
School representatives highlighted recent activities, including an elementary school fire-safety program and Race for Education fundraiser, a middle school talent showcase, and the high school’s PSAT and SAT testing.
The district reported receiving a $1,000 donation for its care closet from an American Bikers group and about $680 from Main Street. It also noted recurring $200 donations from Karen Weddle to help single mothers.
The next regular school board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the district boardroom.
