Adams County Farmers Market 2026 Season Ends with Halloween Fun

The Adams County Farmers Market (ACFM) will celebrate the final day of its regular 2026 farmers market season with a Farmers Market Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gettysburg Rec Park, 545 Long Lane, Gettysburg.

The celebration will bring Halloween entertainment and free activities to the market alongside its regular selection of local farmers, food producers and vendors. Visitors are encouraged to come in costume, enjoy the festivities, and stock up on seasonal produce and favorite market products before the regular season concludes.

Professional character actor Jillian Breneman prepares for Halloween bubble-making activities ahead of the Adams County Farmers Marketโ€™s Halloween Spooktacular.

A highlight of the event will be magician Kyle Purnell, who will perform strolling magic throughout the market from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Known for his innovative and original creations, Purnell appeared on Penn & Teller: Fool Us in 2023 and received the Magic Inventor of the Year award in 2021. His roaming performances will give shoppers opportunities to experience his magic up close while exploring the market.

Costumed monsters will also be mingling at the market, adding to the spooky atmosphere of the day. A Halloween photo area will offer a backdrop and props for visitors to borrow, whether posing with the monsters or taking their own festive family photos. โ€œIโ€™m proud to be a part of this first-time event at the Adams County Farmers Market,โ€ said Jillian Breneman, one of the professional monster character-actors scheduled to be in attendance. Breneman will be performing magic bubble activities for children during the event.

Children and families can also enjoy a mini pumpkin-painting activity and a sโ€™mores station in the grassy knoll while supplies last. Admission and participation in all Halloween activities are free, but donations to the farmers market are encouraged to help support community-driven events like this one.

Beyond the Halloween festivities, the season finale offers one more opportunity to shop directly with local growers and small businesses. Customers can browse fall produce, baked goods, meats, food trucks and other locally produced foods while connecting with the vendors who have helped make the market a weekly community gathering place throughout the season.

The Farmers Market Halloween Spooktacular has been supported by a grant from the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust and has been sponsored by Eric M. Walker, a local financial advisor with Edward Jones. Support like this helps ACFM offer free, family-friendly event programming.

Free parking is available at WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital. Visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather and make the farmers market part of their Halloween Day plans.
