Simonne Roy is a full-time landscape painter maintaining a studio practice and gallery in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Her deep appreciation for the natural world and passion for the outdoors form the basis for her contemporary impressionist paintings.
Locally, Roy is represented by Gallery 30 in Gettysburg where you can see her paintings of the Gettysburg Battlefield and surrounding countryside. She has also produced many paintings of Pennsylvania’s state parks, the French countryside, and still life paintings available at www.simonneroy.com.
A life-long resident of Pennsylvania, Roy has been painting outdoors since childhood. She is active in the Central Pennsylvania art scene and was 2018’s featured artist for Lewisburg’s Celebration of the Arts. Roy seeks out opportunities to travel and has been awarded a number of artist residencies in American national parks and in France.
Roy graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College, obtained a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law, then moved to Central Pennsylvania in 1980 where she practiced law and art simultaneously for thirty years. During this time, she attended workshops with world-class artists including Lois Griffel, former Director of the Cape Cod School of Art.
