Women’s XC Places 13th at SUNY Geneseo

Junior Amy Cantrell (Hailey, Idaho/Wood River) placed 40th in a field of 322 to lead the Gettysburg College women’s cross country team to a 13th-place finish among 29 teams at the Mike Woods Invite hosted by SUNY Geneseo Saturday morning.

The Finish Line

  • Gettysburg finished with a team score of 386 points in its biggest race of the season, with three runners finishing in the top-75. The hosts and 13th-ranked SUNY Geneseo won with 27 points, with Kathleen McCarey capturing first place for the Knights.
  • Cantrell was timed at 23:45 for the 6,000-meter course to place 40th, setting a new personal-record and cracking the 23-minute mark for the first time of her career.
  • O’Brien was the Bullets No. 2 finisher, claiming 66th with a 24:12 time, while junior Amanda Addesso (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) was close behind, taking 72nd with a PR time of 24:23.
  • Senior Ashlyn Booher (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) was next across the finish line for the Bullets, taking 131st in 25:21, while freshman Emily Trout (Ocean View, Del./Sussex Academy) came in 145th in 25:35 to round out the team scoring.
  • Finishing as a displacer was sophomore Rachel Fischler (Avon, Conn./Avon), who took 213th in 26:46.
