The Gettysburg College women’s swimming program will enter the new campaign as the 23rd-ranked team in the country according to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III Preseason Poll.

With 49 total points, Gettysburg slid in between Saint Olaf College (55) and Calving College (38) in the national ballot. Kenyon College topped the women’s poll with 369 points.

Gettysburg was one of two teams from the Centennial Conference to crack the preseason poll. Swarthmore College was tagged 16th with 146 points. Earlier this week, the Bullets topped the Garnet in the CC Preseason Poll voted on by the conference coaches.

Additionally, the women’s team ranked fourth in the Northeast-South Regional Rankings compiled by the CSCAA. Carnegie Mellon University, which swims against Gettysburg on Nov. 6, earned top billing in the regional ballot ahead of Rowan University and Swarthmore.

Gettysburg’s men’s swimming program ranked sixth in the regional rankings.

Gettysburg opens the season with a quad meet against three Centennial schools – Washington College, Dickinson College, and Bryn Mawr College – in the Bullets Pool on Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.
