The Adams County Housing Authority is seeking new landlords for its housing choice voucher program.
To help prospective landlords learn more about keeping their units filled with reliable tenants while about helping the community, the agency is offering an Open House on Tuesday May 21, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Misty Ridge Community Room, 25 Sunnie Way, Gettysburg.
The agency houses hundreds of deserving people in subsidized housing.
There is always a waiting list for housing.
The Housing Authority offers landlords:
- Competitive payment standards
- Guaranteed rental income while helping the community
- Payments made via direct deposit
- Consistent tenants, low vacancy and turnover
- Free pre-inspections followed by annual inspections to make sure the property is being maintained by tenants
- Competitive rental rates

Thank you Adams County Housing Authority, for doing all you can for the community.I really pray there are more landlords willing to help with the community crisis that is happening in Adams County, PA !! It is sad when hardworking people can’t afford to rent a home , due to high inflation . Why would anyone want to see good people from their own communities living outside in the heat & cold with children , or if one of the parents has bad health problems and needs home health care, they can’t be homeless to get health care !! When are neighbors have to go on housing vouchers , it’s not because they want to , it’s because of hard times or their health .This doesn’t make them bad people , just friends & family & neighbors that need help and that’s why we need New Landlords to step up and rent to families on housing vouchers !! Another reason is ,there will be homeless people and we don’t need to be another state or county like in California !! We don’t want people sleeping in the middle of our parks or in our back yards or using out side bathrooms in or on your front porch or back yards , So let’s HELP our neighbors & families that need a helping hand !!! As God says, “ Love their neighbor “ Let’s show that our Community here in Adams county can help each other !! We have enough homeless people in the world , and here in Adams county the people that grew up here raising their children here should not have to be kicked out do to NO affordable housing !! Or simply know landlords that truly care !! We all love God and God says we should help each other in times like these . With all the fighting in the world, at least people can make sure there’s homes to live in !! One more problem I see , so many people have pets and don’t want to give up their fur babies because they have too move !! Especially if they had them for many years !! They are part of the family !! and should count when the tenants have pets as part of their family . It’s inhumane to just get rid of pets , because someone need a new place to live ! The pets just want to stay with their loving caring family that has taking care of them ! So please have a heart and allow families that had their pets too be able to keep them !!
