The 2023 holiday film “A Gettysburg Christmas” will return to Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater this December for one week. Daily showings of the film, which was produced locally by director Bo Brinkman and featuring many local locations and residents, will be shown in the Majestic’s state of the art Cinema One. Tickets are $9 and are on sale now at the Majestic Theater Box Office.
“The Majestic team is excited to host this collaborative event as part of our bustling holiday offering this year,” stated Majestic Theater Executive Director, Brett W. Messenger. Showings are made possible thanks to cooperation with Main Street Gettysburg and the Gettysburg Film Commission. Show times have been scheduled to compliment the annual A Gettysburg Christmas Festival, presented by Main Street Gettysburg.
“We are thrilled to have this special film as part of the Christmas Festival,” said Main Street Gettysburg Executive Director, Jill Sellers. “Thanks to our amazing partners, we can kick off the holiday season with this celebration of our community.” Show times are December 6 at 6 p.m., December 7 at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., December 8 at 5 p.m., and daily December 9-12 at 4:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
The film premiered with a sell-out crowd at the Majestic Theater in November 2023 and is based on a book by the same name, written by Craig Rupp. In the seasonal story that includes visits to Sach’s Bridge, Liberty Mountain, the Gettysburg battlefield, and more, main character Hope’s holiday season takes an unexpected turn when her family pays an unwanted visit, and her brother’s friend Nick arrives. A stranger named Charley helps Hope find the joy of Christmas along the way. The film stars Kelley Jakle, Sean Faris, Bruce Boxleitner, Lee Majors, Kate Vernon and Tom Vera.
“I’m thrilled that our production, A Gettysburg Christmas, will premiere at the Majestic Theater for its first theatrical run, marking the start of the holiday season,” said writer and director, Bo Brinkman.
Tickets for all show times are $9 and are available now at the Majestic Theater Box Office, 25 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, by calling (717) 337-8200 or online at www.gettysburgmajestic.org. The Majestic Theater at the Jennifer and David LeVan Performing Arts Center is owned and operated by Gettysburg College as a gathering place for its campus and community to celebrate the arts together.
