A Walk Among Heroes: WWII Veterans in the National Cemetery

Join us at Valentine Hall for a special program on the Soldiers’ National Cemetery at Gettysburg and learn how the cemetery grew from its original Civil War design to honor and provide a final resting place for America’s veterans of the 20th century. Discover the stories of heroic WWII veterans from all branches of military service from Pearl Harbor to infamous battles like Iwo Jima Battle of the Bulge and Guadalcanal.

Tara Wenzel retired from the Department of Defense in 2015 after almost 38 years of service working in training finance intelligence analysis signals collection and counter-terrorism. She earned the Department of Defense Master Instructor and Senior Collector certifications and worked in 43 countries around the world with US military civilians and foreign allies. Besides teaching she also designed curriculum and managed programs while mentoring employees and providing career guidance. Since retirement she has taught leadership programs for business and government groups with Tigrett Leadership Academy and conducts tours of WWII sites in Gettysburg with Gettysburg Tour Company.
