Act Local Fair supports local non-profits

Gettysburg’s second annual Act Local Fair will take place on Lincoln Square on Saturday, April 18th from noon to 2pm.

The event, organized by Gettysburg Rising, brings together local organizations that make a difference in the community. Representatives from the organizations will share their mission and services with the community, as well as possible volunteer opportunities.

Sixteen groups, including Safe Home, Manos Unidas, the Arc of York and Adams County, Adams County Farmers Market, the Gleaning Project and Gettysburg Rising will have tents lining the square.

This event is free, family friendly and will feature two keynote speakers, Matt Moon (Borough Council President) and Janet Riggs (former president of Gettysburg College), who will share their journeys of acting local in this historic town through their various leadership and volunteer roles.

Food trucks Euro Bites and R&A Asian Cuisine will be nearby selling their specialties.

There will be a raffle near the parklet where you can enter for a chance to win prizes such as tickets to a performance at the Majestic Theater, a basket of products from Infused Naturals LLC, and a gift card to Kennies Marketplace. This event is co-sponsored by Community Benefits Real Estate (who donates 10% of its gross to local organizations), Hill Financial Solutions, and Mediation Services of Adams County.

Gettysburg Connection will provide photographic coverage of the event.
