Apples United Church of Christ in Thurmont Maryland is looking for a once-weekly pianist / organist for our 9:30a.m. Sunday service. Our service is ‘hymnal-based’ (no projected words) and typically there are four hymns as well as supporting prelude/postlude and responses.
Hymns are known about a week in advance (you do not have to pick the hymns)
This is a part time 1099 position. Compensation is monthly.

Over the last seven years, the Adams County Planting Partnership (ACPP) has proudly distributed more than 98,000 seedlings to our community. While the Keystone 10 Million Trees program has officially concluded, our mission to keep Adams County green is just beginning.
To continue this important work, the ACPP is launching an exciting new initiative: growing our own seedlings locally. By transitioning to a volunteer-grown model, we can ensure a steady supply of native trees and shrubs for years to come.
We’re looking for “Mini-Nursery” volunteers!
We’re kicking off our inaugural season with a goal of growing 2,000 seedlings for distribution in Fall 2026. We invite you to join us for an informational meeting to learn how you can become a local grower. At this meeting, we’ll share guidelines and expectations for those willing to host a small growing site. While the main focus of this meeting will be information for growers, we’ll be covering other aspects of the program too, so if you’re interested in finding out about other volunteer opportunities connected to this program, you’re welcome to attend.
What: Informational meeting for volunteer seedling growers (learn about hosting a “mini-nursery”).
When: March 4 at 6 p.m.

Primary Function: As a Deputy Director/Direct Service Victim Advocate you will have the responsibility of assisting victims and their families as they navigate through the criminal and juvenile justice system. This position provides support to the Program Director to ensure the continuity of programs and services provided to Victims of Crime in Adams County and will assist in all aspects of program administration and operation. In addition, this position will provide a wide variety of direct services to support the physical, financial, and emotional recovery of victims of crime and providing the delineated rights and services guaranteed by the Crime Victims Act to all victims and witnesses of crime in the adult and juvenile justice system.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in counseling, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
A minimum of two years’ experience handling a caseload involving clients experiencing crisis situations may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Spanish/English bilingual skills a plus.
