Did you know that 216 child victims of abuse and their families were supported by the Adams County Children’s Advocacy Center in 2024? Adams County is our community, these are our kids, and 216 child victims is TOO MANY.
Fact – child abuse happens in Adams County, in every neighborhood and every type of family. During April, Child Abuse Prevention month, the Adams County Children’s Advocacy Center invites all members of our community to LEARN, PARTICIPATE and to PREVENT by taking part in activities that help prevent child abuse and honor child victims. HONOR – 4/4 FREE, Plant a yard sign in honor of a child victim – everyone welcome, 224 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, 4:30 – 6:00 pm
LEARN – FREE, Take the 5% Challenge, a brief, informative video on how to recognize, react and respond to help keep kids safe. When 5% of a community’s adults learn about prevention, that is the “Tipping Point” to reduce child abuse in our community. Please be part of the 5%.

The Adams County Children’s Advocacy Center, is an independent, non-profit organization meeting the needs of children and families through child abuse prevention education programs in Adams County schools, free training and resources for parents and caregivers and a child focused program that helps child victims of abuse journey from hurt to hope and healing.
