The Adams County Farmers Market began offering PA Food Bucks on Sept. 26, adding a dollar-for-dollar produce match to its existing SNAP “Double Dollars” program.
The new partnership with The Food Trust gives participating SNAP shoppers up to three times the value of their benefits for eligible purchases at the market. The program is scheduled to continue each Saturday through the market’s final day of the season, Oct. 31, at Gettysburg Rec Park, 545 Long Lane.
Shoppers can visit the Market Manager’s booth and use a SNAP/EBT card to receive their SNAP amount in market tokens, a local dollar-for-dollar match, and a PA Food Bucks match for fresh fruits and vegetables. A $30 SNAP redemption, for example, provides $90 in total food-purchasing value. The market’s current daily limit is $30 per shopper.
No separate enrollment is required. Shoppers need a valid SNAP/EBT balance and can ask market staff about eligible purchases. The market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The program is expected to add about $20,000 in food-assistance purchasing power to Adams County each year. The market’s existing nutrition incentives benefited more than 1,800 lower-income residents in 2025, according to the release.
PA Food Bucks coupons are limited to fresh fruits and vegetables. SNAP tokens and the locally funded match may be used for other SNAP-eligible foods available at the market.
