The Adams County Farmers Market opened its 2020 season on a blistery and sometimes snowy morning Saturday, as about 250 shoppers braved the cold to buy jellies, jams, plants, and other local products.
“The opening day of the 2020 farmers market season went exceptionally well given the unprecedented circumstances,” said Market Manager Reza Djalal. “Every single one of our vendors did an admirable job in operating safe retail spaces. All staff was well prepared with PPE and hand sanitizer. Some vendors also had very creative ways to manage the flow of customer traffic to keep everyone safe while also making shopping convenient.”
Djajal said customers carefully observed the social distancing guidelines by wearing face masks and avoiding large congregations of people.
“The online pre-ordering system went very well. Every order was picked up and there were no issues or delays,” said Djajal.
Djajal said he had received positive comments from customers about the online ordering system.
