The Adams County Farmers Market is set to hold its 4th annual Farmers Market Fairy Festival on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gettysburg Rec Park, located at 545 Long Lane. During this magical event, the regular farmers market will transform into a whimsical marketplace filled with fantasy-themed items, children’s activities, prizes, costumed entertainment, face painting, and much more, all alongside the regular produce vendors who attend each Saturday. Shoppers are encouraged to dress up in their most magical attire.
Last year, the Fairy Festival attracted crowds of delighted dragons, pixies, and fantastical creatures of all ages. Organizers believe this year’s event will create another memorable moment in the history of the farmers market. “We launched this event when we first moved to the Gettysburg Rec Park,” reflected Market Manager Reza Djalal. “It felt like a fun way to activate the grassy knoll and make the farmers market a more dynamic experience.” This is the only fairy festival-style event in Adams County, inspired by the success of similar regional events in northern Maryland and across the state.
The festival will feature an array of vendors offering unique, fairy-inspired items, providing an excellent opportunity to support local businesses. “This small but mighty fairie festival is a highlight of my vending year,” said Vee Potter of Dancing Pig Pottery, one of the whimsical vendors scheduled to attend on June 13th. Over 20 additional vendors have signed up to offer fairy-themed gifts and other treasures not typically found on a market day.
In addition to the themed vendors, the regular farmers market will be in full swing, offering fresh vegetables, sweet treats, and other locally produced goods. Visitors can also enjoy live family-friendly entertainment presented by the famous East Coast Pirate Entertainment troupe. Having entertained attendees since the festival’s inception in 2023, the troupe continues to delight audiences with their performances. Multiple activities for children will be available, including a wand-making craft and the chance to “fight a pirate.” Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
The Fairy Festival has been made possible thanks to generous sponsors The Pub & Restaurant and State Farm Insurance Agent Mike Ball. The event has also received support from the Adams County Arts Council’s STAR Grant Program, funded by the Adams County Commissioners, the Borough of Gettysburg, and the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust.
Whether you’re a fairy princess, a forest gnome, a cave troll, or simply a fan of local flavor, this year’s Fairy Festival promises a magical morning you won’t forget.
