Shoppers are invited to attend the Adams County Farmers Market’s Holiday Pop-Up Market on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Gettysburg Rec Park, 545 Long Lane in Gettysburg. This annual event brings together many of the market’s regular vendors and growers, along with dozens of additional art, craft, and gift vendors to create an unbeatable shopping experience.
Over 50 vendors will be in attendance at the event, with offerings such as ceramics, ornaments, handsewn goods, cutting boards, 3D printed toys, jewelry, and much more. Some creators will even be offering stations where customers can have their gifts customized on-site, for truly one of a kind items.
“This will definitely be the best holiday shopping experience of the year,” said Market Manager Reza Djalal. “If you want to find unique, locally made gifts and support small businesses, this is the place to be.”
In addition to dozens of new vendors, this event will also feature many of the Adams County Farmers Market’s regular cast of fan favorite vendors as well, including Boyer Nurseries & Orchards, Hilltop Farm Market, Twin Springs Fruit Farm, Charming Meadow Mushrooms, Bantam Coffee Roasters, The Kombucha Lady, and others.
Those planning to visit the Holiday Pop-Up Market are encouraged to come hungry and eat lunch with one or more of the multiple food trucks scheduled for the event, including Dabo-Rye, EJ Smokehouse, The Mexican Food Truck, and Euro Bites, each offering their own specialties and festive fare.
The shopping experience will also be enhanced by the addition of unique winter-themed entertainment. Shoppers can expect costumed entertainment courtesy of local entertainer, Gingersnap the Fairy, and face painting for children by Brittany Shade. There will also be an interactive ‘winter walkthrough,’ where families can get a holiday-themed digital photo in front of a decorative backdrop. Event organizers anticipate even more family-friendly entertainment will make an appearance during the event to surprise and delight guests.
Regular market shoppers are advised to note the change of operating hours for the Holiday Pop-Up Market, which runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm, as opposed to the market’s traditional 8:00am start time earlier in the year.
Visitors are encouraged to park in the overflow parking lot at WellSpan Hospital, as well as at the Winebrenner parking lot accessible from South Howard Ave.
For those with SNAP/EBT benefits, the Adams County Farmers Market will continue to double SNAP during the Holiday Pop Up Market, just as during the normal market season. SNAP benefits can be doubled up to $30 per day and spent on any SNAP-eligible food products sold at the market.
The Gettysburg Rec Park (GARA) will also be hosting their own parallel vendor event, inside the Sterner Building, at the same time as the Holiday Pop-Up Market. This parallel event will feature well over a dozen additional vendors with even more unique products and gifts, as well as offering a cozy indoor space for shoppers to warm up in. GARA’s vendor event goes until 4:00pm.
“Every year, this event gets better and better,” Djalal continued. “There will be tons of awesome vendors, and a little something for everyone.”
