The Adams County Library System is proud to announce that it has been awarded Gold Star status as part of the PA Forward® initiative, a statewide literacy program of the Pennsylvania Library Association. This honor recognizes the library’s exceptional commitment to advancing literacy and lifelong learning opportunities throughout the community.
Gold Star status is the highest level of achievement within the PA Forward® Star Library Program. To earn this distinction, the Adams County Library System demonstrated excellence across a series of rigorous standards set by a team of peer libraries. These standards measure how well libraries plan, deliver, and document literacy programming that aligns with the PA Forward® framework. The Adams County Library System’s literacy programs were reviewed and verified for their quality, community impact, and alignment with statewide literacy goals.
“Receiving Gold Star status is a testament to our library’s dedication to empowering our community through knowledge, literacy, and access,” said Miranda Wisor, Executive Director. “This recognition highlights the creativity, collaboration, and passion of our staff and the continued support of our patrons and community.”
The Gold Star award ceremony is planned to be held at Gettysburg Library on Thursday, December 4th.
