Who is Running for Adams County Offices?
View the ballot you will see on election day.
The Adams County municipal primary election is Tuesday, May 21.
May 14 is the last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.
Registration for the primary closed on April 22.
Here is some information about the election:
33RD STATE SENATE SPECIAL ELECTION
Sen. Rich Alloway has announced his retirement, leaving an open seat.
On May 21, there will be a special election to choose who will fill the vacancy through the remainder of his term to the 2020 election.
Candidates are:
Sarah Hammond, Democrat
Doug Mastriano, Republican
The 33rd District covers Adams County, Hanover Borough and West Manheim and Penn townships, most of Franklin County and parts of Cumberland County.
ADAMS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
The four-year terms of Jim Martin, Randy Phiel and Marty Qually expire at the end of this year.
Here are the candidates:
Marty Qually, Democrat
Sara Murphy Laird, Democrat
Jim Martin, Republican
David Bolton, Republican
Randy Phiel, Republican
The two candidates from each party with the most votes will then move on to the general election, then the three candidates with the most votes will become the next commissioners.

Paul Kellett, Democrat
GETTYSBURG BOROUGH COUNCIL
Two seats need to be filled in 2019: Ward 2 and the at-large seat.
Current Slate and Candidates:
Ward 1: One seat up for election (Wesley Heyser, incumbent)

Ward 2: One seat up for election (Chris Berger will not seek reelection)

The seat of incumbent Republican John Lawver is up for reelection. Lawver is running unopposed.
