Adams County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy announces candidacy for Office of Sheriff

Kevin Miller, 54, of Littlestown, PA, is running for Adams County Sheriff. Miller has leadership experience in office as the Operations Lieutenant for sixteen years. He was chosen by Sheriff James Muller, appointed as his Chief Deputy last fall and has just begun his 20th year serving under Sheriff Muller.

He expresses gratitude for the opportunities provided by Sheriff Muller and former Chief Deputies L.J. Supenski and David Allison. A lifelong Pennsylvania resident, he lives in Adams County with his wife and ten-year-old son.

Miller has dedicated most of his adult life to criminal justice. After high school, he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice while working full-time. His extensive training with experience in position includes:

  • U.S. Army Military Police Academy (MP) duty stations in Germany and deployment to Macedonia/Kosovo. (Kosovo Campaign Medal)
  • Act 2 Pennsylvania Deputy Sheriff Academy
  • Special Deputy for the US Marshals Office of the Middle District of PA
  • PA Department of Corrections Academy
  • PCCD Constable Training and Education Board (PA Constable- Mt. Pleasant Township, Adams County, PA)
  • TransCor America LLC Academy (Senior Extradition Agent transporting prisoners nationwide)
  • PA Game Commission Deputy Wildlife Conservations Officer Academy

Additionally, Miller has completed many hours of law enforcement training during his career.

If elected, some of his goals include improving communications and collaboration with the community and local law enforcement, increasing the visibility of the Sheriff’s Office including elevated patrols at school locations, supporting youth development by creating a reward program for good citizenry, recognizing Deputy and Office staff achievement and mentor future leaders within the office, ensuring fairness and impartiality in promotions while encouraging continuous learning and skill mastery, rebuilding the Bomb/Search K-9 program if staffing and resources are feasible, and continuing community outreach initiatives like Christmas for Kids.

Miller is a member of multiple organizations including the National Rifle Association (Life Member), National Sheriff’s Association, PA Sheriff’s Association, Fraternal Order of Police Tri-County Lodge #76, Adams County Law Enforcement Association, McSherrystown Fish and Game Association, and Littlestown Fish and Game Association.

“I know where the Sheriff’s Office has been, its status now, and where its future direction should be. I am prepared and ready to serve as Sheriff from day one if elected. I would be proud and honored to be able to continue to serve the citizens of Adams County as your Sheriff.” said Miller.
