Trinity 11 Gettysburg 2

TEAM 1 2 3 4 Total
Trinity 4 0 3 4 11
Gettysburg 0 1 0 1 2

While the final score was 11 – 2, any thoughts of any “easy” Trinity (9-1) win were quickly dispelled.
Turner “The Ram” Ramsburg turned away 14 of the 25 Shamrocks’ shots, saving 56% of the missiles fired at him. In his 20th appearance in varsity action, Ramsburg hit the 100 save milestone, making him only the second Warrior to hit the century mark in a career. Gabe Wyant is the all-time career saves leader with 505.
While Ramsburg faced 25 shots on goal, the Shamrocks peppered another 22 shots in the vicinity of the goal that were either blocked by the Warriors or just missed the net. R.J. Monn continued to punish the body while soothing the mind, blocking two Shamrock shots despite wearing minimal protection. Monn leads the team in blocked shots on the season.
The rest of the defense, led by senior Josh Martin, Sophomore Nate Rawlings, and LSM Sam Dickerson, played lockdown defense. The defense worked with the consistent play of Gavin Hodges, the grit of Ty Garretson, the speed of Alex Cunningham, and toughness of Grant Johnson to transition stops into offensive opportunities. The clearing into the offensive zone was the best of the season so far. Jake Snyder continued to be consistent at the faceoff circle as he battled for the full 48 minutes.
Offensively, Jackson Sheads found his favorite spot on 10 yards off the right post and blasted two howitzers past the Shamrocks’ netminder to give the Warriors both of their strikes. Sheads’ first goal was perfectly set up as Cole Schumacher negotiated past the Shamrock defenders and found his open teammate. Finn Keenan picked up his second assist of the season as he sent a pass to Sheads for the Warriors’ second goal. Gavin Nevada’s play at the “X” was critical to controlling the offensive chances that the Warriors had in the contest.
The Warriors play on the road on Thursday as they travel to Bishop McDevitt. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 5:00 PM, with the varsity game to follow at 6:30 PM.
