Hershey dealt Gettysburg its first loss of the season. The Warriors were held to just two hits, both from second baseman Wes Sokol.

The offensive output by Isaac Beals, Brayden Burge, and Henry Boegel proved to be too much for the Gettysburg Warriors as the Thundering Herd won their first game of the season, 17 – 8. Beals, who scored his 100th career varsity goal earlier in the season, led the charge with five goals on the night. Burge also netted five goals, and Boegel added three as the three seniors earned hat tricks.
Cole Schumacher and Jackson Sheads, the tandem leading the Warriors, each scored twice in the contest. Sam Dickerson, Brody Granger, and Brennen Double scored goals for the visiting Warriors. R J Monn found the back of the net for the first time in his career to round out the scoring for Gettysburg.
The Warriors’ Jermain Gondwe collected his first career point in varsity lacrosse with his helper to Monn. Sheads, Granger, Monn, and Double were all credited with assists in the game.
Newcomer Jake Snyder won a team-high 10 faceoffs for the Warriors, while Sheads led the way with 8 ground balls. Carlisle’s Brayden Stewart won 16 faceoffs and led his team with 7 ground balls.
Senior Gabe Wyant continued to dazzle the crowd with 15 saves on the evening for the Warriors, while Cayden Plank of the Thundering Herd had 7 stops.
Defensively, Josh Martin led Gettysburg with 2 forced turnovers.
Gettysburg Boys’ Lacrosse will play at 4:30 PM this Friday, April 5, 2024, at Warrior Stadium.

Dover 14 Delone  6

Dover triumphed over the Squires on Thursday; Delone highlights included three goals from John Kelly, two by Noah Hall, and the sixth goal was scored by Drew Metcalf. Austin Gregg recorded 10 saves.

Boys Lacrosse

York Suburban  7 Delone  6

York Suburban squeezed past Delone. For the Squires, Sam (3) and Noah (2), Hall combined for five goals. Deagan Snyder scored the other goal for the Squires.

Girls Lacrosse

April 4

York Catholic 13 New Oxford  8

York Catholic had 27 shots on goal, cashing in 13 times to defeat New Oxford. New Oxford had 18 shots on goal, and Daelyn Hardnack had 10 Saves. Cameron Cohee scored four times for the Colonials. New Oxford’s won the JV game, 8-7.
