The Squires struck first, but momentum swings defined the game. SCA broke through 24 minutes into the first half with a goal off a free kick. Delone answered late in the half when John Keeley crossed to Vincent Lima, tying the game 1-1 at the break.
Early in the second half, Delone surged ahead. Will Holtz scored on an assist from Nico Scamardella, then quickly set up Scamardella for another goal to give the Squires a 3-1 lead.
But the Flames stormed back, netting three goals in less than four minutes midway through the half. The burst flipped the match and proved to be the difference as Shalom’s defense held strong the rest of the way.
Delone goalkeeper Nik Holtz recorded six saves in the loss, but it wasn’t enough to stop Shalom’s decisive rally.
