The number 50 was in the air Tuesday night as 3 Gettysburg Warriors hit personal achievements in varsity action. Senior Brennen suited up in the maroon and white for the 50th time in his varsity career. Nate Rawlings and Finn Keenan scooped up their 50th groundballs in varsity play.
While Hershey proved to have too much for the hometown Warriors, the contest had several positive moments. Earlier in the season, Tyler Lucas scored 10 goals against Gettysburg, but the Warriors’ defense held the St. Bonaventure-bound star to 3 goals. Netminders Carter Jenkins and Ryder Dailey combined to make seven saves while Vic Pridham and Josh Martin each forced a turnover. Offensively, Gavin Nevada recorded his first hat trick of the season as he heated up in the 2nd half. Nevada scored his 1st goal off a pass from Cole Schumacher. The sophomore banged home his next two goals, slashing through the defense to beat goalie Eli Cohen.
Cole Schumacher took three steps close to 100 points in his varsity career as he scored a goal and added two helpers. Fin Keenan scored his 2nd goal of his career while Brennen Double scored his 4th of the season. Jackson Sheads rounded out the scoring with his 19th goal of the year.
Sam Dickerson led the Warriors with six groundballs. In his career, Dickerson has vacuumed up 92 total groundballs. Jake Snyder and Vic Pridham combined to win 12 of the 28 faceoffs.
The Warriors head to Red Land on Tuesday, May 6th at 4 PM and return to Warrior Stadium on Thursday, May 8th for Senior Night against Northern. The recognition will start around 4:15 PM on Thursday with the faceoff at 4:30 PM.
