Littlestown snapped Biglerville’s 17-game winning streak, defeating the Canners in a District III playoff match Thursday afternoon at Biglerville. The Thunderbolts built 4-0 lead after five innings, then weathered a three-run Biglerville rally in the bottom of the sixth, added an insurance run in the seventh, and held on. Maddie Dubbert was masterful in the pitching circle for Littlestown, going the distance and not allowing an earned run. She struck out there and did not walk a batter. Biglervlle’s Sydney McCleaf also turned in a remarkable pitching performance, likewise throwing all seven innings and allowing only two earned runs. Isabella Olvera was a hitting star for Littlestown with a home run and two RBI. Biglerville out-hit Littlestown, 9-6, with the nine hits provided by nine different players. Littlestown will now move to the state playoffs and a date with Kutztown next Tuesday.
