An excellent football season came to an end Friday night when Delone was bounced from the Class 1A State Playoffs in a game played in New Cumberland. The Squires finished the season at 10-3.

Undefeated Danville broke open a close game with two unanswered second-half touchdowns to defeat Bermudian, ending the Eagles’ playoff run and their 11-game winning streak. Trailing by six at the half, Bermudian couldn’t muster much of anything after halftime, while the Ironmen took control of the game, played at Susquenita High School in Duncannon. It was an excellent season for District Champion Bermudian, which lost its opener back in August and then rolled up win after win, including last week’s thriller.
