Delone Catholic controlled from start to finish in a 7-2 win over Fairfield on Thursday evening. The Squires jumped ahead early as Will Holtz scored in the opening minutes, followed quickly by Nico Scamardella. Holtz then connected again off a header from Scamardella before John Keeley made it 4-0 with a volley. Giorgio Lima set up Holtz for his third, and minutes later, Isaac Rasher’s long ball helped Holtz net his fourth goal of the half, setting a school record. Delone led 6-0 at the break. In the second half, the Squires rotated in younger players, but senior Dacosta Wivell added a seventh goal. Fairfield managed to answer late with two goals, but Delone’s strong first half proved decisive. Holtz’s four-goal performance highlighted the night for the Squires.
