The Adams County Transportation Planning Organization (ACTPO) is seeking public comment on a study focused on the future of the Cross Keys Corridor.
The study area includes PA 94 from Dicks Dam Road to Hanover Street, as well as a portion of US Route 30 from Lincoln Street to Stanley Drive, according to a press release from ACTPO. The area is the focus of concerns from Berwick, Hamilton, and Oxford townships, according to the release, citing safety concerns and potential economic and land use impacts from future development.
The study, which is a collaboration between ACTPO, PennDOT, and local municipalities, will evaluate traffic and transportation safety for all modes of travel and land use and economic development impacts, the release said. The goal is to create a framework for improvement, and the plan will include recommendations for regional and local level planning efforts, coordination with stakeholders, and operational and physical improvements.
The survey is available online, and residents can also provide feedback through an interactive map. The survey and map will be available until May 13, 2024.
“Hearing directly from the public on their transportation concerns along PA 94 will give us a clear understanding of areas along the corridor in need of further evaluation or improvement,” said Andrew Merkel, Assistant Director at the Adams County Office of Planning and Development, said in a press release. “The feedback we gather from the survey will inform the next phases of the study process. By working together to define these areas of need, we can begin defining short- and long-term strategies that the community is supportive of that will ultimately enhance safety and mobility for all who use the corridor.”
Once complete, the study will be available online, and ACTPO expects a final report by June 2024.
It would be handy if the article gave readers the link to the survey. I do not find it on the ACTPO website either.
