Adams County

Adams County has a population of about 100,000.  Its county seat is Gettyburg.

The county was formed on January 22, 1800 when it was divided from a part of York County.

The county is named for John Adams, the second president of the United States.

Adams County comprises the Gettysburg, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Harrisburg–York–Lebanon, PA Combined Statistical Area.
