The Little Life Enrichment Center in New Oxford has successfully completed an $855,000 expansion project, significantly enhancing its capacity to provide childcare services in Adams County. This expansion was made possible with the support of a $400,000 low-interest state loan facilitated by the Adams Economic Alliance in collaboration with the Adams County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC), the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA), and ACNB Bank.
The funding initiative has enabled the center to add two new Pre-K Counts classrooms, responding to the urgent need for more childcare services in the region. Clark Agapakis, the center’s owner and director, emphasized the immediate filling of the new 40 childcare spaces, highlighting the pressing demand within the community.

Adams Economic Alliance President Robin Fitzpatrick commended Agapakis and his team for their commitment to providing quality care for 260 children, equating to around 200 families, especially given the current childcare provider shortage in the area. The Little Life Enrichment Center, which has been serving the community for over 25 years, is noted for its high standards, being one of the four childcare facilities in Adams County to achieve a four-star rating from the state’s Keystone STARS program.
The project benefits local families and contributes positively to Adams County’s economic landscape, supporting the workforce and promoting economic development. This expansion marks the 152nd low-interest PIDA loan orchestrated by ACEDC since 1996, reflecting a long-standing commitment to fostering growth and opportunities within the community.
