The Apple Core Band has been performing at the Bendersville Fire Hall for twenty years.

The Band held a special memorial concert for former band member and trumpet player Jim Rodgers today.

Rogers battled cancer and passed in October 2023.

An animal lover, Rogers owned a dog named Scooby and a cat named Paterno. The band made sure to include songs involving animals.

They musicians also played some of Rodgers favorite Apple Core tunes. The varied repertoire included songs such as  Clarinet Hoedown, Civil War, Barnyard Blues, Simple Gifts, and Music Man.

The fire hall volunteers sold hot turkey sandwiches, sloppy joes, chicken corn soup, as well as their popular fries and delectable desserts.

Everyone had a toe tapping time.

Donations were accepted for the Bendersville Fire Department.
