Apple Harvest Festival returns to Biglerville for its second weekend

The National Apple Harvest Festival will return to the South Mountain Fairgrounds in Biglerville for its second weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10 and 11.

The annual event is held about nine miles northwest of Gettysburg, in the heart of Adams County’s apple-growing region. The festival grounds are at 615 Narrows Road.

Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the festival is scheduled to operate rain or shine.

Admission includes parking in festival parking fields and shuttle service to the grounds. Tickets also include live entertainment, attractions, exhibits and orchard bus tours.

General admission is $15 for visitors age 12 and older. Admission is $13 for people 60 and older and for military members with identification; children under 12 are admitted free.

The festival’s schedule includes performances on several stages, demonstrations, children’s activities and exhibits. The event’s second-weekend program also includes the Pennsylvania Apple Queen contest on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Organizers describe the gathering as a celebration of the region’s apple harvest and rural traditions. Visitors can explore crafts and displays as well as food and entertainment across the fairgrounds.
