Bakewell Farm

Bakewell Farm’s Founding Executive Director Marc Jalbert will be stepping down effective June 1, 2020. Marc is a master baker who has shared his craft in many ways, including baking wholesome bread for Ruth’s Harvest and teaching many students how to bake sourdough. He started this nonprofit in 2016 with a vision for using bread baking as a way to build community. We honor and celebrate that vision, as well as the countless ways he worked to bring it to fruition.

Moving forward, Bakewell Farm will focus on supporting Ruth’s Harvest in the Gettysburg Area School District. In addition, the nonprofit will continue to build the Community Baker program, which teaches individuals how to bake a basic loaf and encourages them to share one with someone else.
