Hunter Gillin’s sacrifice fly scored Tegan Kuhns with the winning run yesterday afternoon as the Gettysburg Warriors earned a bottom-of-the-seventh, come-from-behind win over Red Land by a score of 4-3.
Trailing 3-2 entering the final frame, the Warrior rally began with a walk to Wyatt Sokul, followed by a single from Kuhns. After a strikeout, both runners advanced on a wild pitch. After Wes Coolbaugh was walked to load the bases, Braden Manning was hit by a pitch to tie the game. Kuhns then raced home with the winning run on Gilliin’s one-out fly ball.
The game was a low-hit affair, with both teams combining for just eight hits, five by Gettysburg. The Warriors’ Manning, with two, was the only player with more than one hit.
On the mound, Gettysburg employed four pitchers, with Ajonte Bullock going the final inning-and-a-third, notching three strikeouts, walking one, and not allowing a hit in earning the win.
