Totem Pole Playhouse proudly presents Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, opening this week on Friday August 8 for 20 performances only, as the musical centerpiece of its 75th Anniversary Season.
This Broadway smash tells the inspiring story of Carole King’s rise from teenage songwriter to chart-topping legend.

Audiences will follow Carole’s journey through heartbreak, friendship, and fierce determination, all set to a soundtrack of unforgettable hits like “You’ve Got a Friend,” “One Fine Day,” “Natural Woman,” and “It’s Too Late.” The musical is more than a jukebox—it’s a celebration of creativity, courage, and the soundtrack of a generation.
Totem Pole welcomes back Hannah Taylor as Carole King (Cruise: Six, National Tour: Little Women), joined by John Ashley Brown as Gerry Goffin (National Tour: Grease), Amy Decker as Cynthia Weil (Will Rogers Follies, Phantom), and Jason Cohen as Barry Mann (Totem Pole’s Million Dollar Quartet). They lead a cast of powerhouse vocalists, dancers, and over 30 cast, crew, and creatives—many of whom are from the local community.
Directed and choreographed by Christine O’Grady (Broadway: Hair, Legally Blonde; over a decade of Totem Pole hits including Jersey Boys), with music direction by Darren Server, scenic design by Jim Fouchard, costumes by Azaria Jade Rubio, and lighting by Ryan B. Gibbs, this production delivers high polish and heartfelt storytelling in every scene.
“This is a show about finding your voice, and what better way to do that than with Carole King’s?” says Artistic Director Ryan B. Gibbs. “It’s uplifting, powerful, and filled with songs we’ve all grown up on. You will know every song!”
