OFFICE OF THE MAYOR November 5, 2026
Dear Community Friends and Neighbors;
For more than 3 years Mr. Dick Unger, a former resident of Biglerville, has enlisted my help to get our Bank Clock on the square back in operation. He located a clock guy, but through trials and tribulation, it still says 12:50. Now he has located a clock expert in Lititz that is very familiar with our clock, and parts are ordered, but much work needs to be done; the chimes are there, and with a significant budget of $15,000, our beautiful small town can see the clock working and hear the chimes again, decades later.
Mr. Unger wishes this project to be completed, in memory of his mother. He has pledged to make up any difference in funding over what funds we can raise to make his wishes come true. Ketterman Electric has been a dedicated supporter with lift and expertise support, as has Pauls Garage in York Springs., and Butch Eyler signs. I wish it done also, as I am no longer “allowed” to go up in lifts.
Please make check out to the account administrator, Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society, remarks “ Bank Clock Project”, and mail to BHPS, P.O. Box 656, 154 West Hanover Street, Biglerville, PA 17307. I hope I can announce your decision by Thanksgiving.
See you at the drive through Thanksgiving meal hosted by the Biglerville Fire Dept November 21st from noon til 2 (Thank you Biglerville anonymous donor), and our Christmas tree lighting ceremony December 4th at 6:30 PM at the Firehall.
Thanks for your support as always.
Sincerely,
Phil Wagner, Mayor of Biglerville
