The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that drainage work will begin next week on a section of Route 94 (Carlisle Pike) in Adams County. This work is part of a 3.8-mile pavement repair and resurfacing project on Route 94 between Pine Run Road in Hamilton Township and Route 234 in Reading Township.
Weather permitting, drainage work will begin on Wednesday, July 15. There will be a single-lane restriction under flagging weekdays during daylight working hours.
The following week drainage work at the intersection of Route 94 and Browns Dam Road will close Browns Dam Road on Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24. A 5-day detour will be in place using Fawn Avenue.
This project consists of drainage improvements, milling, resurfacing, guiderail updates, and other miscellaneous construction. There will be lane restrictions under flagging on weekdays between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM throughout the summer.
Drivers are reminded to be alert for these operations, to obey work zone signs, and to use caution when driving through work zones for their safety, as well as for the safety of the road crews.
JVI Group, Inc. of York Springs, PA, is the contractor on this $2,524,576 project. All work is expected to be completed by April 30, 2027.
