
Coming off its first victory of the 2021 campaign, the Gettysburg College women’s lacrosse team grabbed the No. 5 position in the latest release of the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association Division III Poll.
Gettysburg (1-0) showed no signs of rust in dashing past Washington College 16-8 in its season opener over the weekend. Dating back to the preseason poll, the Bullets have maintained a top-five billing in all five editions of the national ballot.
Franklin & Marshall College (1-0) snagged the top spot with 19 first-place votes. Tufts University (0-0) was a distant second and snagged three first-place votes. Washington and Lee University (4-0) and Salisbury University (6-0) secured one and two first-place votes, respectively, to finish ahead of Gettysburg.
Gettysburg makes its home debut against Muhlenberg College this Saturday at 4 p.m.
