Bullets Sport Spotlight: Baseball

GETTYSBURG COLLEGE
GETTYSBURG COLLEGE

John Campo heads into his 35th season as head coach of the Gettysburg College baseball team, making him the longest-tenured active coach on staff. Throughout the fall semester and in the early weeks of the spring, Campo and his coaching staff have been preparing the Bullets to get back on the field when the time comes. A strong group of seniors is ready to step up to the challenge of leading the squad and preparing their teammates to be ready for competition when it resumes. Regardless of what happens on the field, Gettysburg baseball continues to be a leader in the community having raised over $75,000 as part of its annual Take ALS Yard campaign.

During Campo’s 34 years as coach, the Bullets have racked up 622 wins, an average of more than 18 a year. That record includes twelve seasons of 20 victories or more, four Middle Atlantic Conference division titles, one Middle Atlantic Conference championship, two trips to the Eastern College Athletic Conference tournament, and one trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
