Gettysburg College’s Cantrell named CC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – Amy Cantrell (Hailey, Idaho/Wood River), a senior on the Gettysburg College women’s indoor track and field team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Track Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 5-12.

Cantrell led the Bullets at the season-opening Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday, turning in a program-record time of 3:08.34 to finish second in the 1,000 meters. Cantrell’s time ranks third in the nation this indoor season.

She was also part of the 4×400-meter relay that placed fourth (4:27.59).

Gettysburg returns to action at the Mini-Dip Invitational hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Friday, Jan. 27. Action begins at 2 p.m.
