Community Unity Dinner

All are invited to attend a Community Unity Dinner on Saturday, November 9, featuring keynote speaker Rev. Carla Christopher. Rev. Christopher is a writer, poet, performer, and Assistant to the Bishop for Justice Ministries with the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Church of America.

This dinner is the first in a series designed to provide a forum for open conversation and learning about issues pertaining to race in Adams County. The series is sponsored by Pathways to Racial Justice, a community committee co-chaired by Dr. Bettye F. Baker and Angela Sontheimer, originating with members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Gettysburg and now including representatives of Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, St. James Lutheran Church, the Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice, the YWCA of Gettysburg and Adams County, Gettysburg College, and the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the ELCA.

The November 9 dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the United Lutheran Seminary Refectory. Reservations are recommended and can be made through nlilley@ywcagettysburg.org. The suggested donation is $10, which will be collected at the door.
