Couples looking for a meaningful and memorable way to celebrate Valentine’s Day are invited to the 3rd Annual Gettysburg Loves Love Vow Renewal on Saturday, February 14, at the historic Gettysburg Railway 1884 Depot.
Set in what has been recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s most romantic small towns, the event invites married couples to reaffirm their commitment during a heartfelt vow renewal ceremony — followed by the opportunity to enjoy a romantic train ride through the serene countryside of Gettysburg.
The free outdoor event will begin at 11 a.m. at the Gettysburg Railway depot with refreshments and photo opportunities for all who wish to attend. At 11:30 a.m. Gettysburg Mayor Chad-Alan Carr will lead married couples through a vow renewal ceremony, which will be live streamed by Community Media of South Central PA.
This marks the third annual Gettysburg Loves Love event, which last year drew more than 200 couples from nine states, ranging from newlyweds to a pair celebrating 70 years of marriage.
“Gettysburg Loves Love is a celebration of the love we share with one another and with the Gettysburg community. Our town has such a romantic atmosphere this time of year, and this event truly shines a light on that,” said Amy Welsh, General Manager of Gettysburg Railway. “In the early years of the event, we hoped to welcome at least 50 couples. We were blown away by the response and can’t wait to see how many lovebirds flock to Gettysburg this year.”
Following the ceremony, couples are invited to continue their celebration by booking a ticket to board Gettysburg Railway’s Valentine’s Day excursion train, departing at 12:30 p.m.
The ride offers guests the chance to relax, unwind, and enjoy time together while traveling through the winter countryside in comfortable, heated railcars — making it an ideal way to extend the celebration with your favorite person.
Two ticket options are available:
Premier Honeymoon Experience
Designed for couples seeking an elevated Valentine’s Day celebration, this experience includes special romantic touches such as champagne, curated treats, commemorative keepsakes, and priority boarding.
General Valentine’s Day Excursion
A standard excursion option is also available for guests who wish to enjoy a comfortable train ride without the added inclusions. However, champagne and special Valentine’s treats will be available for purchase onboard.
Seating is limited for both experiences. Full details, inclusions, pricing, and ticket availability can be found at www.gettysburgrailway.com
Community Celebration of Love
Couples wishing to participate in the vow renewal ceremony are encouraged to RSVP at www.gettysburglove.org
Family members, friends, and members of the community are welcome to attend the ceremony and celebrate alongside participating couples.
