Craig S. Meeson

Craig S. Meeson died peacefully on September 23, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on October 5, 1948, in East Orange, NJ, Craig fell in love with Gettysburg, PA, when he attended and then graduated from Gettysburg College in 1970. Interestingly, he majored in Spanish simply because he enjoyed the language, but spent the majority of his career in the book-printing industry.

Craig will be remembered not only for his long-winded stories and terrible “dad jokes,” but also for his ability to fix nearly anything and his immense love of animals. This last trait, according to his family, was indisputably the one that mattered most. No matter how many four-legged friends resided within the home at any given time, Craig was always willing to make room for one more. (To date, the record remains at seven cats and two Airedale Terriers.)

Despite the fact that Gettysburg is landlocked, Craig loved the water and was an impressive slalom skier. In his younger years, he sliced effortlessly back and forth through the wake, creating a glisten of spray as he expertly rounded each buoy. Later in life, he taught both of his children, Hannah and Curt—along with all of their friends—the magic of standing on water while gripping a towrope. Kathy was so agile that her middle name might as well have been “Grace” and Erin was a natural on the kneeboard, but Zeb nearly lost his life to an excessively rough tube ride one time…

Craig was predeceased by his parents, C. Schuyler and Roberta Meyer Meeson, and his son, Curtis. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Hannah; his sister, Suzanne Evdokimoff; and three wonderful cats named Bert, Poppy, and Catty Jane.

In accordance with Craig’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
