This docu-film tells the story of the tormented life of divisionist painter Giuseppe Pellizza (1868-1907), famous for his work “The Fourth Estate’ – housed today at the Galleria d ’Arte Moderna in Milan – as well as for his ability to study the soul and human activity. Exploring the places he lived as well as his artistic sensitivity, with Fabrizio Bentivoglio as the guide and “narrative consciousness,” this documentary reveals the artist’s emotions and his vision of reality. Under the direction of John McKay, The Gettysburg Choral Society will present a pair of concerts entitled “In Dulci Jubilo” (In Sweet Rejoicing). The chorus will perform timeless Christmas favorites such as “Carol of the Bells,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,” and more. Featuring soprano Amanda Peters, the program will include several recitatives and choruses from Handel’s “Messiah.” Virtuoso organist Peggy Haas Howell will perform as well, and the program concludes with a joyous sing-along, accompanied by organ and chorus.
