Democracy for American hosts Democratic candidates

Please join Gettysburg Democracy for America for a Community Conversation with Democratic candidates for state and national office on Wednesday, April 3, at 7:00 PM in the Community Room of the YWCA on the Fairfield Road in Gettysburg. Brief remarks from the candidates will be followed by a question and answer session and a chance to learn how to get involved in their campaigns as we head toward a critically important election next November.

Candidates include:

Beth Farnham, Democratic candidate for the 13th District U.S. Congressional seat currently held by John Joyce. Beth’s campaign is off to a great start and has already established a presence in most of the dozen or so counties that make up the 13th District. Her position papers, recent speeches, and highlights from early campaign events can all be sampled on her website at https://bethfarnhamforcongress.com/

Cameron Schroy, a lifelong resident of Franklin County and career civics teacher, is running for PA Senate in the 33rd District, a spot currently occupied by Doug Mastriano. Cameron’s campaign is also off to a good start, and he is taking strong positions on raising the minimum wage in Pennsylvania, addressing climate change, providing adequate funding for public schools and many other issues. More on Cameron’s campaign is available at https://www.cameronforpa.com/

Shanin Caplener will also be part of the program that evening. Shanin is taking on Dan Moul for the 91 first PA Legislative Assembly seat. More on her campaign is available in a Gettysburg Connection article at https://gettysburgconnection.org/democrat-shanin-caplener-pursues-91st-legislative-district-seat/

Please come and bring your friends to meet the candidates, ask questions, and hear what they have to say on the issues that matter to you.
