Destination Gettysburg invites businesses across Adams County to enter the “Gett Merry and Bright” holiday decorating contest to usher in the festive season.
Participants are encouraged to adorn the exterior of their properties with traditional, classic or vintage decorations. Those who wish to participate are asked to register their business online and submit a photo of their display by Dec. 4. Registration and contest details can be found at DestinationGettysburg.com/lights.
Participants will be featured on the Destination Gettysburg website and entered to win a $500 cash prize. The winner will be randomly chosen and contacted no later than Jan. 8, 2025.
Once businesses are registered, Destination Gettysburg will post a directory of addresses on its website by Dec. 6 for visitors and residents to locate the light displays.
This marks the second edition of the “Gett Merry and Bright” contest. In 2023, more than 20 Gettysburg businesses participated in the event.
“Last year’s contest was held exclusively in the borough, and this year we wanted to expand beyond Gettysburg so we can spread holiday cheer throughout Adams County,” Destination Gettysburg President and CEO Karl Pietrzak said. “We hope ‘Gett Merry and Bright’ will inspire businesses to create dazzling displays for visitors and local residents to enjoy.”
