Destiny’s Child reunites for one-night-only performance

Destiny’s Child surprised fans with a one-night reunion during Beyoncé Knowles-Carter’s final Cowboy Carter tour stop in Las Vegas, marking their first public performance together in years.

The unexpected moment came on July 26 at Allegiant Stadium, where Beyoncé closed out her nine-city U.S. and European stadium tour. During the show, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Beyoncé on stage, sending the packed venue into a frenzy.

The trio performed some of their biggest hits, including the 2001 anthem Bootylicious and the 2005 favorite Lose My Breath. Rowland and Williams also joined Beyoncé for the fan-favorite “Mute Challenge” from her Renaissance era, singing the lyrics, “just me and my crew—big energy!”

For many, the appearance felt like a celebration of Beyoncé’s career, blending her past, present and future on stage in a single night.

Destiny’s Child rose to fame in the 1990s with original members Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett, later becoming a trio with Knowles, Rowland and Williams. Together, they became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time before parting ways in 2006.

While each member has gone on to pursue a successful solo career, fans have long called for a reunion. The group’s last major public appearance came during Beyoncé’s iconic 2018 Coachella set, following their joint Super Bowl halftime performance in 2013.

Earlier speculation of a reunion surfaced in January 2024, when Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, revealed that she had received a private serenade from Destiny’s Child for her birthday.

Saturday night’s performance marked the end of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit tour, a groundbreaking series of 32 stadium shows that blended country music, cultural commentary, and genre-bending spectacle.
