On Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 PM at the Gettysburg YWCA Gettysburg DFA will present a community conversation on school vouchers. “Do Vouchers Improve Educational Outcomes?” will be the question addressed by Susan Spicka, Executive Director of Education Voters of PA.
Some have advocated for an expansion of the educational voucher program in Pennsylvania, but a recent court case has declared the unequal funding of our schools unconstitutional. And, according to Spicka and Education Voters, “Pennsylvania already spends $470 million annually on school vouchers through the existing Educational Improvement Tax Credit and Opportunity Tax Credit voucher programs with no evidence that these programs improve educational outcomes for students.” Should the voucher program be expanded before public schools are more equitably funded? Please come and join the conversation!
